About FSO Shield

Built by an FSO, for FSOs.

Jean Baptiste — military veteran and industrial security professional. FSO Shield is the documentation framework I wish I'd had when I started.

Why this site exists

I built FSO Shield because I got tired of watching FSOs scramble.

I built FSO Shield because I got tired of watching FSOs — especially at small contractors — scramble to build compliance documentation from scratch every time DCSA came knocking.

I've been in industrial security for years. I've seen what DCSA assessors actually check, what findings they cite most, and what separates facilities that pass cleanly from those that don't. The difference is almost never knowledge — it's documentation. The FSOs who struggle are the ones rebuilding an SPP from a blank Word document at 10pm the night before their assessment.

These templates are what I wish I'd had when I started. They're structured the way assessors review them, annotated with the NISPOM references that matter, and built to be customized — not just downloaded and forgotten.

FSO Shield isn't a consulting firm. I'm not selling you a $15,000 engagement. I'm giving you the same documentation framework that large primes use, at a price a 20-person cleared contractor can afford.

Background

The background behind the templates.

  • Military veteran — operational security and information-handling experience from active service.
  • Industrial security professional focused on NISPOM compliance under 32 CFR Part 117.
  • Hands-on experience with DCSA security vulnerability assessments at cleared contractors.
  • CDSE-trained — completed the coursework every FSO is required to take, plus the specialty tracks most skip.

FSO Shield is for general educational purposes and is not legal advice. Nothing on this site should be treated as a substitute for counsel from your legal or compliance team.
